Our story
Shapeheart is the story of two entrepreneurs who could no longer stand doing sports with poorly designed and uncomfortable armbands. Thanks to a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter, they were able to fund their project of an armband with a detachable magnetic sleeve and an integrated heart rate sensor, testing their idea directly with consumers.
Who are we?
We are Antoine and Michael, and sports have always been a part of our daily lives. We love sports because they bring us joy and balance. Like many others, we practice while listening to music, alone or with friends, track our runs on Strava, and let GPS guide us on our bikes or scooters.
That's why we created Shapeheart!
In the beginning...
This whole detachable magnetic sleeve story actually happened by accident. We were working on our heart rate armband to offer a heart rate tracker more reliable than watches and more comfortable than chest straps.
We decided to integrate an optical sensor into the armband, but faced the issue of keeping the sensor against the skin while having the phone outside the jacket...
That’s how the detachable magnetic sleeve system was born, and we quickly realized that it could revolutionize phone accessories.
Designing quality products
Creating and developing a good product was a real challenge. We quickly understood why the concept didn't exist before.
It took 14 iterations to get the perfect armband: a magnet system strong enough to hold the phone securely while allowing smooth access, without making the armband too heavy, compatible with almost all phones, and easy to produce.
The same was true for designing the bike and motorcycle mount.
Our achievements
Shapeheart started as a small French start-up launched by passionate individuals. A start-up that won the FNAC Jury Prize in 2016 and became known by succeeding in its Kickstarter campaign (nearly 1,000 products sold).
Today, it's over 4,000 points of sale in more than 20 countries, a range of about fifteen products, and now several hundred thousand daily users.
Our vision for the future
Shapeheart aims to become the leading urban-outdoor accessory brand in Europe. We have continued to expand our range since we began our journey in June 2017 with the magnetic armband.
- 2018 : Magnetic sports belt
- 2019 : Magnetic phone mount for bikes
- 2020 : Magnetic phone mount for motorcycles and mirrors
- 2021 : Magnetic phone mount for sportbikes, for screwed mirrors, and for scooter dashboards
- 2022 : PRO phone mount for bike and motorcycle handlebars, stem mount for bikes, spherical adapter mount, and a mirror cap mount for motorcycles. And, due to popular demand, we launched an extension arm to reposition your smartphone as you wish; plus a ton of accessories!
