Using our  metal plate?

A while ago, we focused on creating the world's thinnest phone mount!

As an alternative to our sleeves, the adhesive metal plate is the world's thinnest universal adapter, with a thickness of just 1.5 mm. Before its release, we tested it for several months. The whole team was thrilled, so we decided to bring it to market!

There are still a few things to know for optimal use of the adhesive metal plate.

Key points for using metal adhesive plates

Gluing the plate

When applying the adhesive to your smartphone case, it's very important to clean the case thoroughly and let the adhesive set. We recommend letting it rest overnight to avoid any unpleasant surprises.

Depending on phone cases, the adhesive will stick more or less well (on textured cases) or not at all (on fabric covers). It's very variable, and there's no adhesive that sticks as firmly as our magnets on all surfaces. If the adhesive comes off, it's best to clean the surface of your plate and phone case again and then stick the plate on with super glue or epoxy glue.

Make sure the magnet is firmly attached to your bike/motorcycle/mirror. If you’re using elastic bands, the dock tends to come off more easily with your phone when you remove it, unnecessarily straining the adhesive. Instead, use the strap to ensure the dock is firmly secured to your handlebar.

It is very important to be careful when removing the phone from the magnet. You must perform a levering motion (like opening a bottle) and never pull vertically along the axis of the magnet. We recommend holding the metal plate by placing a finger on each side of the plate when grasping your phone.

NOTE

The metal plate does not absorb vibrations.

It is crucial to note that, unlike the sleeves provided in our packs, the adhesive metal plate does not protect against vibrations.

In fact, the phone is anchored to the bike stem or motorcycle handlebar, which poses a risk for the optical stabilizer.
When you use our sleeves, your smartphone is not anchored, so it is the sleeve and the magnet that absorb the vibrations. We’ve explained everything here to avoid any damage!
