Moto GP in 5 stages :

    step 1

    Understanding categories

Moto GP is made up of several categories, but the most prestigious and premier category is called Moto GP. In this category, the bikes reach breakneck speeds and the riders are experts in their field. There are also Moto 2 and Moto 3, the second and third divisions, which are considered training schools for young talent. Each category uses specific machines, offering different levels of power and speed.

    step 2

Getting to know drivers and teams

Each Moto GP team generally fields two riders. Considered top-level athletes, these riders are often recognized the world over for their skills, charisma and, above all, their ability to create an exhilarating spectacle for the fans. They represent not only their team, but also their country and their fans. Teams play a crucial role in motorcycle preparation, from mechanics and maintenance to race strategy and rider support.

Moto GP is an international sport that attracts athletes from all over the world, but there are a few countries that particularly stand out thanks to their exceptional riders and their influence in this field:

    • Spain is undoubtedly one of the most dominant nations in Moto GP, with a generation of talented riders such as Marc Márquez, Jorge Lorenzo, and Maverick Viñales.

    • Italy also has a long history of success, with legends such as Valentino Rossi (see image) and Giacomo Agostini.

    • Australia also ranks as one of the world's top nations, with Casey Stoner and Jack Miller.

    • On the French side, there's also a fine list of achievements built up over the years. These include Fabio Quartararo, crowned World Champion in 2021, and Johann Zarco .

    step 3

    The qualification system

The Moto GP season takes place on a calendar ranging from 2 to 5 races per month, with races organized at several circuits around the world. Each race weekend includes free practice, qualifying sessions and the race itself.

Drivers qualify on the basis of their times in the qualifying sessions to determine their position on the starting line.

    step 4

The points system and the championship

Drivers accumulate points throughout the season according to their position in each race. The points system awards more points to drivers finishing in the TOP 3 in each race.

The world champion, crowned at the end of the regular season, is the one who has accumulated the most points throughout the year. A winner is chosen for each category.

    Strategies and challenges

Moto GP is more than just high-speed racing. Riders must also manage their bikes, tires and fuel throughout the race. It's a responsibility that demands seriousness and a mentality of steel.

Strategies are essential for making decisions on the circuit, such as the right moment to change bikes in case of rain, or the choice of tires according to track conditions, for example. Overtaking is frequent, but requires great skill and, above all, practice, as it can be extremely dangerous for riders.
